ESPCI Paris PSL
ESPCI Paris PSL is a major institution of higher education (a French "Grande École d’ingénieurs"), an internationally renowned research center (6 Nobel Prizes), and a fertile ground forinnovation, with several start-ups foundedeach year. ESPCI is a highly multidisciplinary environment with teaching and research in physics, chemistry and biology.

Project : Enzymes for plastic recycling
Plastic waste (mis)management poses serious societal and environmental issues. Actual plastic recycling methods are essentially based on mechanical and chemical approaches. Mechanical approaches are not selective leading to a quick loss of material performance upon product turnover. New approaches inspired by biodegradation processes and using enzymatic depolymerisation may represent a viable alternative for plastics recycling. This project will explore new methods to address the challenge of designing efficient plastic-recycling enzymes.
Requirements
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdocto work on the discovery of new enzymes for plastic recycling.Requirements areexperience in molecular biology, chemical biology, nucleic acid chemistry or related fields, with expertise in nucleic acid amplification and microfluidics highly desirable.Flexibility, autonomy, the ability to work in a highly multidisciplinary team and good interpersonal skills are essential.
