Prof. Andrew Griffiths’ Lab
The research activities of the Laboratory of Biochemistry at ESPCI Paris, directed by Prof. Andrew GRIFFITHS, are based around droplet-based microfluidics, a powerful new ultrahigh-throughput system in which reaction volumes can be miniaturized by up to a million-fold compared to conventional assays in microtitre plates. This opens up exciting prospects for the development of extremely innovative systems with many applications in the Life Sciences. The successful candidate will join a highly multidisciplinary team, with experience spanning biology, chemistry and physics.
Project
The immune system influences the fate of developing cancers by not only functioning as a tumour promoter, but also as an extrinsic tumour suppressor. Anti-checkpoint antibodies have significantly improved patient survival, however these treatments remain ineffective in many patients. The aim of the project is to study the T-cell response elicited during therapy by anti-checkpoint antibodies.
The Post-Doc will work on the optimization of the molecular assays for T-cell characterization using droplet-based microfluidic platform and next generation sequencing.
Requirements
We are seeking a highly motivated Post-Doc with strong experience in molecular biology or related field. The Post-Doc should be interested in learning how to use microfluidic systems.
Flexibility, autonomy, the ability to work in a highly multidisciplinary team and good interpersonal skills are essential.
