Georges Charpak, who won the Nobel Prize in Physics 1992, was a former Professor with the LEG (Electrical engineering laboratory) at ESPCI ParisTech. His death on September 29, 2010 saddened the entire community. A solemn tribute was paid at the meeting of the Board of Directors on September 30 by
