The Institut Pierre-Gilles de Gennes (IPGG) is a unique interdisciplinary ecosystem within PSL, combining cutting-edge research, technological innovation, education, and industrial partnerships through the Carnot IPGG. The IPGG program is expanding beyond its founding institutions (ESPCI, ENS, ChimieParistech) to include new teams, notably from Mines Paris and the Collège de France, further strengthening the synergy and breadth of expertise within PSL.
The program aims to tackle major scientific and societal challenges through innovation in microfluidics and nanofluidics. It is structured around three strategic pillars :
– Ecological and energy transition : developing technologies with negative CO₂ emissions and innovations for sustainable energy.
– Biology and health : exploring microfluidic technologies to control biological functions, model living systems, and develop alternatives to animal testing.
– Flow chemistry and recycling : advancing new approaches in chemistry and materials recovery to address environmental challenges.
