A multidisciplinary, experimental research-based training model
The engineering program is based on an interdisciplinary approach—physics, chemistry, and biology—and places a strong emphasis on hands-on experimentation. The goal is to train students to tackle complex problems at the intersection of basic and applied sciences.
Each year, the school enrolls 90 engineering students—a manageable size that allows for personalized support and close interaction with the teaching and research staff.
Internationally Recognized Research
ESPCI is built on dynamic research, organized around ten joint research units and three research support units, and carried out by more than 650 researchers, faculty members, postdoctoral fellows, and doctoral students. These teams develop high-impact projects, particularly in the fields of ecological transition and health.
This initiative is part of the PSL University’s overarching network.
From Invention to Industrialization
Innovation is deeply rooted in ESPCI’s DNA. Through its PC’UP incubator, the school supports deep-tech innovators from startup to scale-up, within an exceptional scientific environment.
The result: 54 startups founded since 2016, thousands of jobs created, and hundreds of millions of euros raised.
Green Transitions: A Strategic Priority
Environmental transitions are at the heart of ESPCI’s strategy. They permeate all of its missions—education, research, and innovation—as well as campus life.
With a longstanding commitment to these issues, the school is structuring and strengthening its efforts through new courses, targeted hiring, a green charter, partnerships, and collective initiatives. ESPCI is thus affirming a clear ambition: to make the environmental and social transition a lasting priority in its development.
