Lecture – Living Architectures: Behind the Scenes of the Musée d’Orsay show and future perspectives

This lecture follows up on the event “A Few Seconds of Eternity – Living Architectures Evening” held at the Musée d’Orsay. It aims to take a behind-the-scenes look at this convergence of science and art, offering a glimpse into the “making-of” and the experimental approaches that were presented there.

Researchers from the CytoMorpho Lab will present the methods used to control cell shape and movement, as well as the growth and deformation of actin filaments and microtubules. The scientific questions underlying these experiments will also be addressed, particularly the fascinating paradox of life: its ability to both destroy and build, which is key to its plasticity and remarkable adaptive capabilities.

The conference will also open a discussion on the perspectives for revamping this type of event, with an emphasis on a more participatory and citizen-centered approach that involves volunteer laboratories and the general public. The goal is to foster an open dialogue about science, experimental research, and our relationship with living organisms.
